Lumen printing is a form of camera-less photography that essentially uses the sun as a camera. Lumens are made on photographic light-sensitive paper that starts to develop when you introduce it to a light source. I am so drawn to this art form because it connects me to nature in such a meditative way and it also allows for me to learn to release control. You never truly know how your print is going to look and that’s the most beautiful thing about the process for me. It’s a beautiful dance between me and nature; I forage and arrange the flowers and the sun manipulates my print in whatever way it feels like that day, hour, moment. I’ve learned a lot about this art form over the past few years and in turn have learned a lot about myself.
